Basketball Recap: Collegedale Academy Takes a Loss

Collegedale Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 59-42 fall against the Oakwood Academy Mustangs. The Collegedale Eagle were down 53-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Oakwood Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joanna Caldwell led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Charity Jarman, who went 8 for 20 en route to 19 points along with eight boards and seven steals.

Collegedale Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Oakwood Academy, their win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7.

Collegedale Academy has already played their next game (against Notre Dame), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Oakwood Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-39 victory against Mount Pisgah Academy on the 19th.
