Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Northside's Winning Streak

Northside was the 38-31 winner over Lee County when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Northside Eagles fell 34-24 to the Lee County Trojans on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Trojans are ranked 76th).

Lee County found their leader in sophomore Camya Hutcherson, who posted nine points and five steals. Hutcherson has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taliyah Porter, who had seven points along with five boards and three steals.

Northside moved to 7-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Lee County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-5.

Northside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-22 loss against Coffee on the 10th. Lee County has also already played their next matchup, a 51-50 victory against Veterans on the 10th.
