Baseball Recap: Lamar Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Lamar took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Simpson Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Raiders had just enough and edged out the Cougars 5-3. The victory was nothing new for the Raiders as they're now sitting on three straight.

The team relied heavily on Sullivan Reed, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jackson Whitcomb, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Lamar pushed their record up to 19-5-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Simpson Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-9.
