Basketball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Wheatland's Winning Streak

After flying high against Richland last Thursday, Wheatland came back down to earth. The Wheatland Mules opened the new year with a less-than-successful 60-51 loss to the Brunswick Wildcats. The Mules' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Wheatland's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Brunswick, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Wheatland will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hume at 5:00 p.m. Wheatland is facing Hume at the right time seeing as Hume is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Brunswick, they will head out to square off against Hardin-Central at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hardin-Central is on a three-game streak of home wins, Brunswick a seven-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
