Basketball Game Preview: Cary-Grove Trojans vs. Prairie Ridge Wolves

The Cary-Grove Trojans just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Prairie Ridge Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cary-Grove will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Cary-Grove is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing McHenry: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Cary-Grove blew McHenry out of the water with a 48-18 final score. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Prairie Ridge had to suffer through a 71-18 loss at the hands of Huntley. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 340th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 20th).

Cary-Grove pushed their record up to 21-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32 points. As for Prairie Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 12-15.

Everything came up roses for Cary-Grove against Prairie Ridge in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 58-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cary-Grove since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
