Baseball Recap: Jordan-Elbridge's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

The matchup between Jordan-Elbridge and Port Byron on Tuesday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Eagles fell 14-10 to the Panthers. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

David III Dominick was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Dominick was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Nolan Brunelle made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. Brunelle is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Hunter Bigness, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jordan-Elbridge fell to 2-1. As for Port Byron, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jordan-Elbridge will host Hannibal at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Port Byron, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mexico at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
