Basketball Game Preview: Episcopal Maroon vs. Landon Bears

The Episcopal Maroon will challenge the Landon Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Episcopal is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Bullis, who was ranked eighth in their home state at the time (Episcopal was ranked 22nd). Episcopal was dealt an 87-52 loss at the hands of Bullis on Friday. The Maroon have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Landon ended up a good deal behind St. Stephen's & St. Agnes on Friday and lost 73-58. The Bears were down 58-33 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Landon's defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Episcopal, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6.

Episcopal didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Landon in their previous matchup two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 60-55 win. Will Episcopal repeat their success, or does Landon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
