Basketball Recap: Hoops for Christ Comes Up Short

Hoops for Christ fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Tulsa CHEF on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 34-25 loss to Tulsa CHEF. The defeat leaves the Warriors without a win on the season.

It was another big night for Justyce Walters, who posted 15 points and seven steals for Tulsa CHEF. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Mace, who put up three points and three steals.

Hoops for Christ's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Tulsa CHEF, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoops for Christ will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Aspire HomeSchool at 2:15 p.m. on February 1st. As for Tulsa CHEF, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
