Basketball Game Preview: Perry Central Bulldogs vs. Tylertown Chiefs

Perry Central is 0-10 against Tylertown since February of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Perry Central Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Tylertown Chiefs at 6:00 p.m.

Perry Central is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Monday. They came up short against Our Lady Academy, falling 61-40. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Crescents are ranked 102nd).

Meanwhile, Tylertown strolled past West Marion with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 42-25. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chiefs.

Tylertown has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points per game. As for Perry Central, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.

Things could have been worse for Perry Central, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 30-11 loss to Tylertown in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Perry Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
