            Football Preview: Mendon Hornets vs. Sacred Heart Academy        
        
		
        
        
             The Mendon Hornets will challenge Sacred Heart Academy at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Mendon will come into the  contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Mendon is headed in fresh off scoring the most  points they have   all season. They took their  matchup  on Friday with ease, bagging  a  76-43 win over Lenawee Christian. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 26  points or more this season.
 Owen Gorham had another great game (as  he tends to do), rushing for 301 yards and four  TDs while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up  0.5  sacks, forced one fumble,  and made seven total tackles.  James T Lux was in the mix  as well, providing Mendon with one touchdown.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mendon was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 521  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
 Mendon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Brayden Crites and  Ryder Gorham. Crites got in on the action too, converting a pick  into a touchdown.
 Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Academy won against Muskegon Heights  two weeks ago with 61  points and they decided to stick to that  point total again  on Friday. Sacred Heart Academy beat Brethren by the very same score they won with in their prior game:  61-8. Considering Sacred Heart Academy has won five contests by more than 23  points this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Mendon's record now sits at 9-0. As for Sacred Heart Academy, their record is now 8-1.
