Recap: Siegel Stars vs. Wilson Central Wildcats
The Siegel Stars fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Wilson Central Wildcats on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Wildcats 70-64. Siegel was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wilson Central apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Wilson Central was led to victory by Rita Planella and Jadyn Cooper. Planella scored 19 points along with six assists, while Cooper scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Planella. Another player making a difference was Alli McCullough, who scored 15 points.
Siegel has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Wilson Central, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3.
Siegel's road trip will continue as they head out to face Summit at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Summit is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Wilson Central will be home for the holidays to greet Green Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Green Hill is ranked 116th, while Wilson Central is ranked 133rd).
