Softball Recap: Taylor Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Taylor entered their tilt with Strong on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 20-0 shutout. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 11 runs or more this season.

Anistyn Nolte made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Taylor got a massive performance out of Adley Buford, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Buford also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Macy Downs, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Taylor's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Strong, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Coincidentally, Taylor and Strong will both be playing Lafayette County the next time they take the field. The Tigers will host the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
