Softball Game Preview: Heritage Christian Eagles vs. Roncalli Royals

Heritage Christian is 0-6 against Roncalli since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Royals at 6:00 p.m. Heritage Christian has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Heritage Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Pike on Monday as they made off with a 21-11 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Hannah Tesnar was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and nine unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Heritage Christian got a massive performance out of Sela Barrow, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and seven RBI. Those seven RBI gave Barrow a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anna Hilbrich, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one double.

Heritage Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .784. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Roncalli put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over Avon.

Roncalli pushed their record up to 11-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Heritage Christian, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
