Softball Recap: Park View Patriots vs. Freedom Eagles
Park View extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They lost 25-4 to the Freedom Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 18-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2018.
Freedom's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Freedom's part, the team relied heavily on Chloe Fisher, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, seven stolen bases, and five runs. Fisher also brought in four RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Rutledge, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with ten stolen bases and four runs.
Coming up, Park View will head out on the road to face off against Handley at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for Freedom, they will be playing at home against Potomac Senior at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
