Basketball Recap: Colleton County Takes a Loss

Colleton County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 42-28 bruising from the Hilton Head Island Seahawks. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 40-33 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hilton Head Island was led to victory by Olivia Brockway and Amaya Wroten. Brockway went 6 for 9 on her way to 13 points in addition to eight steals and six boards, while Wroten posted 13 points and three steals. Wroten has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Brothers, who had a point and four steals.

Colleton County's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Hilton Head Island, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-10 record this season.

Colleton County will face off against Bishop England at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. One thing working in Bishop England's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten contests. As for Hilton Head Island, they will head out on the road to challenge Beaufort at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th.
