Basketball Game Preview: Lake City Tigers vs. Goodhue Wildcats

Lake City is 10-0 against Goodhue since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Lake City Tigers face off against the Goodhue Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Lake City is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 98-88 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cannon Falls on Thursday. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Goodhue was able to grind out a solid victory over Kasson-Mantorville on Friday, taking the game 91-79. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Goodhue is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.8 points per game. As for Lake City, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-2.

Lake City strolled past Goodhue in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 66-49. Will Lake City repeat their success, or does Goodhue have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
