Volleyball Recap: Pacheco Comes Up Short

Pacheco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Grace Davis Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

Pacheco wouldn't go down easily and took Grace Davis into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking 16-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16, 19-25, 21-25, 25-9.

Pacheco's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Grace Davis, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-8.

Pacheco and Grace Davis could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Panthers will square off against Livingston at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (950 vs. 156). Meanwhile, Grace Davis (ranked 854th) will meet Beyer (ranked 372nd) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
