Basketball Recap: Hanford West Comes Up Short

Hanford West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 78-55 to the Corcoran Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1093rd, while the Panthers are ranked 242nd).

Javon Bragg continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Corcoran, dropping a double-double on 38 points and 18 boards. The game was Bragg's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Gonzalez, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists.

Hanford West's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Corcoran, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Hanford West didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 74-56 defeat against Summit Charter Collegiate Academy on the 13th. As for Corcoran, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-68 victory against Sanger West on the 13th.
