Baseball Recap: Twin Valley Wins Going Away Against Wyomissing

Twin Valley won the last time they faced Wyomissing and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Spartans. Considering the Raiders have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Nate Lord was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brody Majeski, who went 2-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Twin Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Kooper Zdimal also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Twin Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matches.

Twin Valley's record now sits at 8-5. As for Wyomissing, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

Coming up, Twin Valley will venture away from home to square off against Wilson at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 3.2, the Bulldogs 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Wyomissing, they will be playing at home against Tulpehocken at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
