Football Recap: Winona Christian Piles Up the Points Against North Delta

Winona Christian won the last time they faced North Delta and things went their way on Friday too. The Stars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Green Wave 35-6. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.

Leading Winona Christian to victory were Will Irwin and Zack Bledsoe. Irwin gained 168 total yards and three touchdowns, while Bledsoe threw for 175 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes. Irwin's longest rush was for an impressive 52 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Winona Christian's defense and their three sacks. Holland Self was especially locked on to North Delta's QB and sacked him twice.

Winona Christian's record now sits at 4-2. As for North Delta, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winona Christian will welcome Carroll Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Stars will be up against the Rebels' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.17 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for North Delta, they will be playing at home against Marshall Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Green Wave surely won't give up without a fight.
