Soccer Game Preview: North Charleston vs. Oceanside Collegiate Academy

North Charleston hasn't had much luck against Oceanside Collegiate Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The North Charleston Cougars will welcome the Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

North Charleston's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Battery Creek. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Dolphins: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Oceanside Collegiate Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Hawks 4-0. Fans of the Landsharks have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

They hit Hanahan with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gavin Bauer (2), Tripp Johnson, and Ryan Lozano.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three matchups. As for North Charleston, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

North Charleston might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Oceanside Collegiate Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Can North Charleston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
