Volleyball Recap: Jonesboro Hurricane vs. Conway Wampus Cats
Jonesboro faced Conway in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Hurricane came up short against the Wampus Cats, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wampus Cats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
Jonesboro was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Conway work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-13, 26-24, 25-11.
Emmagin Spencer paced Jonesboro's offense, picking up 12 kills. Spencer got some help from Olivia Than and her 12 assists.
Conway had a senior duo take command as Jovie Harrell had nine digs and four aces and Kensey Nichols had 13 digs and four assists.
Jonesboro dropped their record down to 15-9-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Conway, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 25-5.
