Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lexington). They blew past the West Davidson Dragons 85-47 on Friday. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Yellowjackets had established a 32 point advantage.

Lexington had a senior duo take command as Jaylen Henderson went 5 for 8 on his way to 16 points and four steals and Rahzel Ewart dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Henderson's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Weeks, who posted seven points and ten rebounds.

Lexington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.

Lexington's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-6. As for West Davidson, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Bugs the Lexington Yellowjackets take on the Salisbury Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Salisbury knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Lexington likes a good challenge. As for West Davidson, they will square off against North Rowan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Davidson has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
