Recap: Dayspring Academy Shires vs. University School of Nashville Tigers
The Dayspring Academy Shires couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a rough 56-24 loss at the hands of University School of Nashville. Dayspring Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-10.
Despite the loss, Dayspring Academy still got an impressive performance from Bella Tetterton, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Alex Tetterton, who scored 6 points.
Kate Vaughn was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Uma Peters, who scored 10 points.
Dayspring Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for University School of Nashville, the last time they lost on the road was back on Tuesday. Having now won three straight away games, they've pushed their record up to 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dayspring Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on University School of Nashville at 6:00 p.m. on January 16, 2024. University School of Nashville's road trip will continue as they head out to face KIPP Nashville Collegiate at 3:30 p.m. on December 2nd.
