Baseball Game Preview: Mohonasen Warriors vs. Cohoes Tigers

The Mohonasen Warriors will take on the Cohoes Tigers at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Mohonasen will be strutting in after a victory while Cohoes will be coming in after a loss.

Mohonasen's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Lansingburgh with a sharp 12-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won seven in a row.

Nic Quinlivan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Mohonasen is 3-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 4-5 otherwise. Quinlivan was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Danny DeLaVega, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Will Quinn, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Cohoes came up short against Troy on Thursday, falling 14-3. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cohoes' defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Mohonasen, they now also have a winning record of 7-6.
