Basketball Game Preview: Prairie View Thunderhawks vs. Brighton Bulldogs

The Prairie View Thunderhawks will face off against the Brighton Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Prairie View's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

Prairie View is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Riverdale Ridge just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. The contest between them and the Ravens didn't end well, with Prairie View falling 70-55.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Javon Brewton, who posted 19 points along with five assists and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Chidiebere Akotaobi, who went 6 of 8 en route to 13 points.

Meanwhile, Brighton had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Adams City 54-40 on Friday. That 14 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulldogs this season.

Prairie View's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Brighton, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Prairie View came up short against Brighton when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 66-59. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Brighton's Vance Martinez, who went 10 of 19 on his way to 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
