Softball Recap: Fort Wayne Snider Find Success

Fort Wayne Snider won the last time they faced Fort Wayne Bishop Luers and things went their way on Saturday too. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Knights 9-8.

Makayla Stone spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ameera Kummer and Gabrielle O'Neill did most of the damage at the plate: Kummer went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while O'Neill went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those five RBI gave O'Neill a new career-high. Iiley Griggs also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
