Softball Recap: Jefferson County North's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Jefferson County North ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They put the hurt on Horton with a sharp 19-11 victory. The win was some much needed relief for Jefferson County North as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Bowie Weishaar was incredible, going 3-for-6 with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Emily Wood was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Jefferson County North's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 3-14. As for Horton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Jefferson County North will have a chance to go back-to-back against Horton: the pair will be back at it again later today.
