Softball Recap: Notre Dame Academy Has No Trouble Against Fontbonne Academy

Notre Dame Academy had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Fontbonne Academy Ducks on Monday as they made off with a 14-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Erin Connor made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Connor was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Spaulding, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and two stolen bases. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Maddie Sharry was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Notre Dame Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fontbonne Academy only posted a batting average of .167.

Notre Dame Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Fontbonne Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.

Coming up, Notre Dame Academy will challenge Doherty Memorial at 3:45 p.m. on the 27th. Fontbonne Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
