Basketball Recap: Newhalen Comes Up Short

Newhalen lost against King Cove back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Newhalen Malamutes were outmatched by the King Cove T-Jacks and Rookies and fell 79-46. While losing is never fun, the Malamutes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th in Alaska, while the T-Jacks and Rookies are ranked 24th in Alaska).

Newhalen's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for King Cove, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

As of now, neither Newhalen nor King Cove have any future games scheduled.
