Soccer Game Preview: Antioch vs. Round Lake

Antioch hasn't had much luck against Round Lake recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Sequoits will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 6:15 p.m. Antioch has given up an average of 4.8 goals per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Antioch fell victim to Grayslake Central and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 7-0 to the Rams. While losing is never fun, Antioch can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Grayslake Central are ranked 65th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Round Lake was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They fell just short of Larkin by a score of 1-0.

Round Lake's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Antioch, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Antioch suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Round Lake when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Sequoits avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
