Basketball Recap: Ashe County Takes a Loss

Ashe County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They fell 75-63 to the South Caldwell Spartans. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (62), the Huskies still had to take the loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Caldwell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maggie Wilks, who posted 26 points. Ava Anderson was another key player, putting up 23 points.

Ashe County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for South Caldwell, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-7.

Ashe County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 72-33 loss against Watauga on the 14th. As for South Caldwell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-61 victory against Hibriten on the 14th.
