The Denver North Vikings are taking a road trip to face off against the Pueblo East Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Denver North is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Denver North proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Vista PEAK Prep 8-6. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Bison recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Ruben Avalos was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Meanwhile, Pueblo East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Pueblo County. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 29, 2024.

Pueblo East saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was ENZO PECORARO, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

The victory got Denver North back to even at 5-5. As for Pueblo East, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Denver North hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .316. However, it's not like Pueblo East struggles in that department as they've averaged .397. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Denver North came up short against Pueblo East in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 9-5. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
