Soccer Recap: Venice Extends Winning Streak to Three

Venice had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against the Los Angeles CES Unicorns by a score of 2-0. Given the Gondoliers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Unicorns are ranked 751st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Elio Guitierez and Billy Quinn scored both of Venice's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 21 goals.

Venice's record is now 15-5-1. As for Los Angeles CES, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Palisades the next time they take the pitch. Venice will host Palisades at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Los Angeles CES will host them at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
