Basketball Game Preview: Centura Centurions vs. Central City Bison

The Centura Centurions will be taking part in a tournament against the Central City Bison at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Centura comes in on six and Central City on ten.

Last Tuesday, Centura strolled past St. Paul with points to spare, taking the game 44-30.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Central City over Doniphan-Trumbull in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Central City blew Doniphan-Trumbull out of the water with a 59-18 final score. The Bison have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 23 points or more this season.

Central City's win came from a few key players Centura will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hope Paup, who went 7 of 8 en route to 17 points. Reagan Fousek was another key player, going 6 for 10 on her way to 16 points.

Central City was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Doniphan-Trumbull only posted five assists.

Central City is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.9 points. As for Centura, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Centura came up short against Central City in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 33-25. Can Centura avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
