Basketball Recap: Florence Christian Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Florence Christian can now relate to. They fell to the Hilton Head Prep Dolphins 43-38.

Despite the loss, Florence Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emerson Poston dropped a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. What's more, Poston also posted a 33% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in November of 2024. Leah Lambert was another key player, putting up five points and eight boards.

It was another big night for Courtney Campbell, who almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds for Hilton Head Prep. Campbell's morning made it 26 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin Cleary, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 18 points.

Florence Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Hilton Head Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Florence Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hilton Head Prep has already played their next contest (against Orangeburg Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
