Volleyball Recap: Fort Bend Dulles Triumphs

Fort Bend Dulles took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Carnegie Vanguard, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings won by a set and slipped past the Rhinos 3-2. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Rhinos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Fort Bend Dulles wouldn't go down easily and took Carnegie Vanguard into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20, 15-11.

Addisyn Duncan paced Fort Bend Dulles' offense, picking up 16 kills. Duncan got some help from Ambika Nair and her 22 assists. Nair was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

The win made it two in a row for Fort Bend Dulles and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Carnegie Vanguard, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Fort Bend Dulles didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Aldine on the 16th. As for Carnegie Vanguard, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Stafford at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
