After a string of six wins, Wood's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rio Linda Knights. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Wood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madisyn Farnham, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Farnham hit this season.

Wood's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Rio Linda, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Wood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-5 victory against River City on the 19th. As for Rio Linda, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-1 defeat against Casa Roble on the 18th.
