Baseball Recap: Sterling Takes a Loss

Sterling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 9-3 to the Rock Island Rocks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rocks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 last Wednesday.

Sterling saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cale Nettleton, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Rock Island, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sterling will challenge Rock Falls at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rock Island, they will square off against Normal Community at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
