Football Recap: Monmouth Regional's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Monmouth Regional lost against Shore Regional back in October of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Falcons received a blow as they fell 27-13 to the Blue Devils. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Monmouth Regional lost, don't look at Tyler Gustafson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Gustafson's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards.

Monmouth Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Shore Regional, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Monmouth Regional has already played their next matchup, a 26-13 loss against New Egypt on the 24th. As for Shore Regional, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 35-19 win against Matawan Regional on the 24th.
