Soccer Recap: Berkmar Victorious

Berkmar gave up the first goal on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Patriots who were credited with the win. The Berkmar Patriots got it done in the shootout by posting seven goals to the Atlanta International Eagles's six. Given Berkmar's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Atlanta International are ranked 68th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jorge Ferral Santiago was the driving force of Berkmar's attack as he scored both of Berkmar's goals, bringing his season total up to four goals.

Berkmar has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Atlanta International, with the defeat, they broke their four-match winning streak and moved their record to 8-5.

Coming up, Berkmar will head out on the road to take on North Gwinnett at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Atlanta International has already played their next contest (against Landmark Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
