Preview: Manistee Chippewas vs. Fremont Packers
The Manistee Chippewas will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Fremont Packers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Manistee came up short against Ludington and fell 52-44. While losing is never fun, Manistee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while Ludington is ranked 115th).
Meanwhile, Fremont unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by Whitehall 80-31. Fremont has not had much luck with Whitehall recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Manistee's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Fremont, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
Manistee beat Fremont 48-40 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Will Manistee repeat their success, or does Fremont have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
