Softball Recap: Reedley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Orange Cove last Saturday, Reedley came back down to earth. The Pirates fell 6-3 to the Fowler Redcats on Monday. The Pirates have struggled against the Redcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Reedley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamilah Taylor, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Reedley's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Fowler, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-4-1 record this season.

Reedley will square off against Kerman at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fowler, they will face off against Parlier at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Redcats' favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home while the Panthers have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
