Basketball Recap: Addie Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Poplarville over Pass Christian

Poplarville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. The contest between them and the Pass Christian Pirates didn't end well, with the Poplarville Hornets falling 54-36. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-27 last Friday.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Addie Davis, who posted seven points. That's the most points Davis has posted since back in November of 2024. Briahna Burt was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Poplarville's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Pass Christian, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-14.

Poplarville will look to defend their home court on Friday against Stone at 6:00 p.m. Pass Christian has already played their next match (against Bay), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
