Baseball Recap: Sandburg Gets the Win

Sandburg lost to Oak Forest back in May of 2016, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Bengals. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Sandburg's record is now 13-8. As for Oak Forest, they moved to 13-9-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandburg will venture away from home to challenge Marian Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Oak Forest, they will square off against Bradley-Bourbonnais at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bengals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Boilermakers have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
