Soccer Game Preview: La Serna vs. Santa Fe

The La Serna Lancers will face off against the Santa Fe Chiefs at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

La Serna gave up the first goal last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They beat California by a goal, winning 4-3. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Lancers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 773rd, while the Condors are ranked 320th).

Meanwhile, Santa Fe and El Rancho finished up their match with a 2-2 draw on Thursday.

Ethan Vizcarra was the only thing that stood between Santa Fe and a shutout considering he scored both of Santa Fe's goals, bringing his season total up to seven goals.

La Serna's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-11-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those three contests. Santa Fe's draw makes their record 8-1-5 this season.

La Serna beat Santa Fe 4-2 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Does La Serna have another victory up their sleeve, or will Santa Fe turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
