Volleyball Recap: Tomah Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Delaney Spolum and Karli Hall

Tomah managed to slip by Sparta the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Timberwolves lost 3-0 to the Spartans on Tuesday. The Timberwolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Tomah was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Sparta's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-16, 26-24.

Tomah's loss came despite strong showings from Karli Hall and Delaney Spolum. Hall had 15 assists and 11 digs, while Spolum had 15 digs and four assists. Spolum is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season. Taylor Lord also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Sparta found their leader in sophomore Addison Kent, who had nine digs and four assists.

Tomah now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Sparta, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-7.

Tomah didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Aquinas on the 18th. As for Sparta, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Onalaska on the 18th.
