Basketball Game Preview: Blair Vikings vs. South Pasadena Tigers

Blair hasn't had much luck against South Pasadena recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Blair Vikings will welcome the South Pasadena Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Blair knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully South Pasadena likes a good challenge.

Blair is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 94-70 margin over Monrovia on Wednesday. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 880th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Timmy Anderson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 16 for 21 en route to 38 points and five rebounds. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Blair's points. Manny Macias was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, South Pasadena strolled past San Marino with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 63-44.

Blair's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for South Pasadena, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.

Blair took a serious blow against South Pasadena in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 93-49. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Blair was down 64-26.
