Baseball Recap: Laurel Highlands Triumphs

The Laurel Highlands Mustangs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Ligonier Valley Rams 4-2.

Nick Crouch was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Laurel Highlands' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Lion, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Laurel Highlands' record is now 4-9. As for Ligonier Valley, their record now sits at 6-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Laurel Highlands will head out to square off against Uniontown at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ligonier Valley, they will venture away from home to take on Southmoreland at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rams are facing the Scotties at the right time seeing as the Scotties are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
