Football Recap: Leon Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Leon unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 37-20 bruising from the Wakulla War Eagles on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the War Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Owen Klees went supernova For Wakulla., throwing for 276 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt. That's the most passing touchdowns Klees has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Washington, who rushed for 161 yards while picking up 10.1 yards per carry.

Looking ahead, Leon will head out to square off against Bozeman at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Wakulla, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Taylor County at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th.
